Watson Residence, San Francisco, California

A gable was added on top of a flat-roofed garage to match the one on the house, and the roof rafters behind it were left uncovered to provide light into the windows below. Neighbors have asked, "Is it old trying to look new, or is it new trying to look old?" In the interior, the walls were painted white which, in concert with architectural furniture, created a minimalist design within a Victorian house.
