The Lloyd Wright house was sensitively altered and restored so that the changes are imperceptable and sympathetic to the original design. Removing walls created an open plan and a triangular kitchen, and new windows opened the house to the panorama of the Los Angeles basin and three snow-capped mountain ranges. Details throughout repeated those found in the house, and all built-in furniture, cabinets and paneling were built using fir to match the wood of the original architecture.
